Every day we strive to build and maintain a comprehensive support network for LGBTQ+ individuals and families across the age spectrum by:

  • Working with governmental organizations, community-based groups, and private entities to eliminate homophobia in our communities through education, advocacy, and outreach.

  • Creating inter-generational opportunities for LGBTQ+ individuals to learn from one another through social, educational, and community project interaction.

  • Assessing, advocating, and supporting programming needs to ensure the safety and well-being of LGBTQ+ individuals in our community, with an emphasis on housing, education, employment, and mental and physical health.

  • Ensuring that LGBTQ+ individuals are treated with respect and dignity.

  • Providing a central organizational home for the exchange of ideas and resources amongst LGBTQ+ South Coast residents.

The South Coast LGBTQ+ Network exists to create and support a thriving LGBTQ+ community on Massachusetts’ South Coast where members across the age spectrum can freely, safely, and joyously celebrate their true selves and realize their full potential.

The South Coast LGBTQ+ Network offers programs and services for LGBTQ+ individuals across the age spectrum in the South Coast throughout the year, with a focus on youth, elders, and transgender individuals.

Elevate LGBTQ+ Youth (ages 8–24) is a comprehensive, community-based program supported by experienced case managers, mentors, and parent partners with support from volunteer clinicians, all of whom are laser-focused on helping LGBTQ+ kids and young adults become more confident, self-sufficient, and independent. This is a youth- and family-driven effort—not a “scripted” service. Families and youth engage in programs that guide them towards achieving self-identified goals such as how to build meaningful family relationships, meet new people, stay healthy, find a job, and develop important life skills.

Aging Well (ages 55+) exists to help older LGBTQ+ individuals in Massachusetts’ South Coast experience joy in their later years after living through the tumultuous early years of the struggle for LGBTQ+ equality. Our professionally managed programs focus on health and wellness, technology access, computer literacy, financial and legal planning, social engagement and celebration, and cultural experiences.

Transgender Support Services (all ages) are available to help South Coast transgender and nonbinary people overcome the higher levels of mental and physical health issues, discrimination, homeless, and poverty issues they face versus non-LGBTQ+ individuals. Services include support groups, social events, and activities centered on recognition, celebration, and remembrance, and professional services referrals.
