Mission
We believe that ensuring our workforce stays strong for years to come begins with a solid foundation at a young age. We aim to help youth become valuable and self-reliant members of the community by offering skills training, as well as job search and placement services. Our team will provide tools to help youth stay competitive in the workforce and the insight and confidence they need to impress potential employers.
Summary
We provide one-on-one and group work-readiness and career development guidance to youth ages 14–24 who live in the Greater New Bedford Region.
Program Offerings
Youth Services Program
This program tailors its services to meet
the needs and goals of each youth ages 16-24. Services offered include career coaching, occupational training, job search assistance, and life management training skills. Occupational training leads to industry recognized credentials and employment in high growth occupations. Hi-Set/GED Referrals and financial assistance for eligible youth are available.
Summer Youth Program
This program connects young adults ages 14- 25 to summer employment and pays participants for 20 hours weekly at competitive wages for up to seven weeks. Federal guidelines and eligibility requirements must be met before youth can be enrolled. Youth accepted into the program complete work readiness workshops to ensure they know what is expected in professional work environments. During summer employment, they learn on the-job skills under the supervision of their work sites.
